October 21st 2015 - Library Program Coordinator - Lake Washington Institute of Technology

"Today our Lake Washington Institute of Technology students, staff and faculty were graced with the humor, wisdom and inspiration offered by Steve Ferreira as he spoke in our campus Library in celebration of Disabilities Awareness Month. Steve presented an amazing snapshot of his life as he explained how he triumphed over his cerebral palsy to become the best he can in everything he does. He demonstrated a fearlessness to his audience that will stay with them for a lifetime. His presentation was captivating and encouraged his listeners to participate and ask questions and incorporated videos and a PowerPoint to help illustrate how he is fully capable of many amazing feats that most of us can only hope to achieve one day. I highly encourage others to invite Steve to speak to their communities and share in the amazing story of his life and the future he is building for himself."

"I've recommended Steve to speak to several community organizations. He has a way with words and a unique perspective that can be very eye opening to very eye opening to someone who does not have a physical disability. He doesn't approach his message with a sad story, rather he illustrates his happiness in life while pushing people to see each other in an equal light. I would highly recommend inviting Steve to speak at any organization."

"It is my pleasure to recommend Steve Ferreira as a guest speaker in Elementary, Middle/Junior High School, and High School. I have been using Steve as a speaker in my High School Gifted and Mainstream classes for a number of years to educate others on living with Cerebral Palsy and Disabilities in general. Steve Ferreira is highly intelligent, has strong ethical principles, demonstrates maturity, and one of the most motivated young men I have worked with in many years. He brings humor, yet an honest approach to helping others understand what if feels like to have a physical challenge. He uses history, media, and his life story to enhance the learning process. Not only is this presentation applicable in regard to tolerance of those with disabilities, but tolerance of all people."

November 6, 2015 - Program Coordinator, Multicultural & Student Programs Olympic College

"My name is Anjelica Roxas and I work at Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington. It is my honor to write a letter of recommendation for Steve Ferreira so that he can continue sharing his story with campuses and communities. My initial interaction with Steve had been at the annual Students of Color Conference held by the Multicultural Student Services Directors’ Council in Yakima, Washington for community and technical colleges across the state of Washington which explores and challenges students’ cultural identity and social justice/activism. My first impression of Steve was that he comes in contact with people with an energy like no other which encourages people to want to meet him. Our department, Multicultural & Student Programs, recently invited Steve to present “Living a Disabled Life” in the month of October for Disability Awareness Month. Working with him prior to and at the event was fantastic all the way through because his personality and story made the experience that much more fulfilling. Our students found his presentation style and content to be approachable, engaging, and educational all at the same time. As a program coordinator, this is a highly valuable thing when it comes to programming because our department always strives to reach a spectrum of awareness, education, culture, and a social aspect in which Steve incorporated it all. I highly suggest for Steve’s presentation to be set into an upcoming program or two. He is indeed someone that we’d love to bring back to our campus because of his genuineness and how much of an inspiration he is to those around him."

"Steve offers an inspirational and educational presentation about how to accomplish your goals at your own pace and how to have perseverance. Each time he speaks at Clark College I learn something new and he makes me want to be a better individual. He reminds us how to be respectful and interact with our students who are in wheelchairs. Also, when he speaks I am reminded that my challenges do not compare to the challenges that he and our students face each day. I am so proud of Steve and all that he has accomplished and all that he will accomplish in life."

"Steve is an accomplished athlete, prominent student leader, and inspiring motivational speaker. From July 2010 to June 2011, I worked with Steve in Student Programs at Bellevue College where he often volunteered to help students improve their academics and get more involved in campus activities. While attending a leadership retreat together, I witnessed Steve give an inspirational and moving speech about overcoming perceived limitations and reaching one’s potential. Steve’s advice, recommendations, and vision for people to strive for their best, but accomplish goals at their own pace, illustrated many vivid and compelling examples of the power of persistence, dedication, and commitment when pushing the envelope of personal, academic, and professional development. His speech helped me identify areas for improvement and gave me effective tools to make healthy and helpful changes. I look forward to hearing Steve speak again, and I highly recommend him as a motivational speaker."

"Having known Steve Ferreira for two years here at Bellevue College, I have no hesitation at all in recommending him as a motivational speaker. He is especially impressive in the way he has set specific goals and gone about achieving them in his own life. He can also be counted on to always have a positive outlook and a warm greeting for everyone he knows. These are traits that any audience could do well to learn, and Steve presents them clearly and convincingly. In fact, they come across with added force when one considers the challenges he faces."
